Shazam, the music recognition platform acquired by Apple in 2018, has surpassed 200 million monthly active users worldwide. Shazam is available as a standalone app and can be used as built in function in iPhone and iPad, as well as available through Siri, and recently made its way into Control Center with iOS 14.2 by adding Shazam to Music Recognition.

Oliver Schusser, vice president of Apple Music, Beats, and International Content says, “Apple Music and Shazam offer a seamless experience to music fans around the world.”

“From Shazam’s ubiquitous discovery platform to Apple Music’s unparalleled content, global live radio stations and human curation. Looking back at our long history together, we can only see how close our missions have been: bringing the best home for music lovers and creators everywhere.”

Shazam also shared the list of the 100 most Shazamed tracks ever globally, through a chart-playlist now available exclusively on Apple Music. Tones and I’s powerhouse pop single “Dance Monkey” tops the all-time list, with over 36.6 million Shazams since its release in May 2019.

Tone and I said in a statement that Shazam made a huge difference on reaching out new audiences.

" It provides me with the world stage to perform on, I didn't have a following when I released Dance Monkey, but Shazam gave me the opportunity to reach more people and elevate my fanbase, which has all led to creating a career for myself. It is definitely the app which will help unknown artists, everyone knows that Tones like inspiring artists!”

Followed by Lilly Wood & The Prick & Robin Schulz’s “Prayer In C” and Passenger’s “Let Her Go" closing the top 3.

To stay ahead of the curve, music fans can also listen to the Shazam Discovery Top 50, which compiles up-and-coming songs from breaking artists around the world, and access Shazam’s global, country and city-specific top charts in-app and on the website.

Shazam can be downloaded from the App Store for free and can be accessed through the Control Center on iPhone and iPad, through Siri commands, or on the Mac. Shazam is also available on Android devices and select features can be accessed on the web.
