Recently, Bumble has been on a roll. In addition to its collaboration with the Meditation App ‘Calm’ and the E-sports Club ‘Gen.G’, Bumble has also launched a feature update.
At present, Bumble has launched an emoji service for users in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. How the emoji service works is when two users are matched, the user can initiate one of the nine emojis to start the chat.
In terms of the emojis alone, the nine emojis are not very different from Apple's emoji and Facebook's emoji. It has a limited variety of choices. For many users who find it difficult to express themselves through their message, sending emoticons is the way to go.
According to an official survey initiated by Bumble, users are very satisfied with the new features. This is what Selina said in the survey: “The ability to send emoticons as my first sentence to begin the conversation has greatly reduced my stress”; Amanda has added that emoticons can express her true feelings better than simple words.

As a female-friendly App, Bumble can only be initiated by women. For many female users who are accustomed to being "touched up" don't know how to initiate a conversation, despite being willing to take the initiative to start the conversation. Therefore, Bumble's introduction of the Emoji function is equivalent to giving women the right to choose to say hello first or hello later.
Additionally, Bumble’s plethora of choices of expressions such as ‘showing love’, ‘shy face’, ‘100 points’, ‘cool’, ‘embarrassment’, ‘raising hands’, ‘applauding’, etc. can all be used to lighten the mood of the two parties just after the match. Furthermore, through the author's trial, Bumble put its Emoji in a very conspicuous position, directly on the right side of the first dialog box that pops up after the matching is completed. Thus, making it more convenient and easier to excess the Emojis.
However, there were some doubts expressed by certain users. One of them is Sanli, who was worried that sending emojis alone would appear to be insincere and that the way she said hello was not special enough, which would reduce her match’s response rate, decreasing her chance.
